Bill Mason's Comments on Pioneer Camps

Many people have said good things about Bill Mason.
This is what Canadian Film Maker Bill Mason has said about Pioneer Camps:

"Pioneer Camp has been the greatest single influence on my life. When I say Pioneer Camp, I mean both the place and the people.  I went to camp as a fifteen-year-old with a natural love of the wilderness, canoeing and a fairly basic knowledge of God.  It was camp where all these aspects of my life first took off and never came down.  My memories of how my counsellors shared their knowledge of Jesus Christ, canoeing, the wilderness and all that goes with it are very vivid.

As I look back I can see how God shaped my entire life through camp both as a camper and then later as a counsellor.

Even my film career began at
Pioneer with my first film "Wilderness Treasure", a film about a Pioneer Camp canoe trip.
Many of my best and lifelong friendships were made at Pioneer.     Organizations come and go, others lose sight of their original purpose, but I thank God Pioneer has never deviated from its original purpose, which I see is to introduce children to God's created world, equip them to live in and enjoy it, and to introduce them to the Creator Himself through the person of Jesus Christ."
